Milan holds the third slot in the international show cycle, after New York and London and before Paris, and it is where the Italian houses — the leather and tailoring tradition — present. The Camera Nazionale della Moda governs the calendar.
The audience is invited: buyers, press, clients. The Camera publishes the number of shows and presentations rather than an attendance, and we record no figure.
The two womenswear weeks fall in late February and late September. They are sometimes misfiled — August is wrong — and the separate menswear weeks in January and June are a different calendar again.
For anyone else in Milan during a fashion week, the effect is on hotel pricing across the Quadrilatero, Brera and Porta Nuova, and on restaurant availability, both of which tighten for the full six days.
PlanningTwo womenswear windows — late February and late September — not August, plus separate menswear weeks.
One entry, 2 separate runnings
Womenswear only. The menswear weeks in January and June are a separate institution, Milano Moda Uomo, filed separately.
