Printemps de Bourges

Printemps de Bourges Crédit Mutuel

Bourges · Centre-Val de Loire · France

Printemps de Bourges is the first significant festival of the French year and functions as the industry's scouting ground. Alongside the headline bills in the Palais d'Auron and the marquee, it runs Les Inouïs, a selection process that takes several hundred unsigned francophone acts through regional heats to a Bourges showcase in front of the labels, bookers and radio editors. A large share of the French artists who go on to fill summer stages were seen there first.

The festival was founded in 1977 in a cathedral town of 60,000 with no particular musical claim, which is roughly the point: its authority comes from the selection, not the setting.

The organiser reported around 80,000 tickets sold across the 2026 edition. The figure counts admissions rather than individuals.

Because it falls in late April, before most summer line-ups are public, it is the cheapest way to see next summer's bill a year early. Bourges is small; the hotel stock goes early and Vierzon is the fallback.

PlanningSeasonal window in late April; it opens the French festival season and books before the summer bills are announced.
