The name means up and down the bridges, which is what the route does: a non-competitive walk of around twelve kilometres through Venice, crossing a few dozen of its bridges, taken by families, school groups and clubs on a Sunday in spring. It has run since 1975 and the proceeds go to development projects.
It is unusual among the entries in this atlas for being a mass participation event in a city with no roads, which is precisely its appeal — for one morning the calli belong to people walking a marked route rather than to the normal tourist flow.
No attendance figure is recorded here; the organisers publish participant numbers per edition.
The date is set annually within the spring and is not anchored to a weekday rule or a feast. Anyone intending to be in Venice that day should know the centre will be busier than usual on a Sunday morning.
PlanningA single spring Sunday set each year by the organisers — check the date, it is not fixed.
Season
Computed from the recurrence rule we record for this entry, not copied from a listing. A date marked ~ comes from a calendar conversion and the observance may fall a day or two either side.
