The Theater Spektakel takes over the Landiwiese, a meadow on the Zurich lakeshore, for eighteen days of international theatre, dance and performance — a serious contemporary programme in tents and halls, surrounded by a free outdoor one of street performance, music and food that fills the meadow every evening.
It has run since 1980 and is among the most important performance festivals in the German-speaking world.

The listings correction: MOLT's Swiss calendar carries "Zürcher Theater Spektakel, Vorlauf" in May and the festival itself in August. The May entry is a preview announcement, not an event a reader can attend, and it belongs in the same class as the "Festival da Jazz, Auftakt" and "NIFFF, Ausklang" rows.
