Zürcher Frühlingsfest

Zurich · Switzerland

The Frühlingsfest is a funfair — rides, shooting galleries, bratwurst and a Ferris wheel — set up on the Sechseläutenplatz beside the opera house for a fortnight in spring, with a second edition in autumn as the Herbstfest.

No attendance figure is collected in this pass.

The overlap with Sechseläuten is the useful thing to know: the funfair occupies the same square the guilds parade to and the Böögg burns on, and the fair makes way for the pyre on the day. A visitor who arrives for one finds the other.

It is a city amenity rather than a destination event, and we file it because MOLT does and because it explains what is happening on that square for several weeks each spring.
