Abu Dhabi's summer season is the capital's equivalent of Dubai Summer Surprises: touring shows, concerts, children's programming and retail promotions concentrated at ADNEC and the malls through July and August.

The programme is announced relatively late each year and varies considerably between editions, which makes it a poor thing to plan a journey around and a good thing to know about once already in the country.
The underlying fact is climatic. Between June and September the UAE's outdoor festival calendar does not exist; what fills those months is air-conditioned, commercial and aimed at residents.
