Dubai Fitness Challenge

تحدي دبي للياقة

Dubai · United Arab Emirates

The Fitness Challenge asks the city to do thirty minutes of activity a day for thirty days, with free classes in parks and villages set up across the emirate. Its two set pieces are genuinely remarkable: Dubai Ride closes Sheikh Zayed Road — the twelve-lane motorway through the centre of the city — to traffic for a morning so that tens of thousands can cycle it, and Dubai Run does the same for runners.

No attendance figure is collected in this pass.

The date is the start of the outdoor season: late October is the first point at which exercising outdoors is reasonable again after the summer, which is the whole design of the thing.

Both road events are free and require only registration, and both close the city's main artery for several hours.

PlanningA thirty-day window from late October; the two Dubai Ride and Dubai Run days are the fixed points inside it.
