احتفالات رأس الخيمة
Ras Al Khaimah · United Arab Emirates
Ras Al Khaimah has spent a decade competing with Dubai on New Year fireworks and has taken several Guinness records doing it, firing from barges and from Al Marjan Island, a reclaimed archipelago off its coast, with drone displays integrated into the show.
No attendance figure is collected in this pass.
The competition between emirates on this one night is genuine and expensive: Dubai fires from the Burj Khalifa and the Palm, Abu Dhabi from the corniche, Ras Al Khaimah from the islands, and each publicises its record attempts in advance.
Viewing is free from the public beaches. Al Marjan is closed to incoming traffic well before midnight and the road back to Dubai afterwards takes several hours.
PlanningFixed at midnight on 31 December; free from the beaches, and the island is closed to traffic.
