The UAE Tour is the first World Tour stage race of the season, formed in 2019 from the merger of the Dubai and Abu Dhabi tours. Most stages are flat and finish in bunch sprints across the emirates; the race is decided on the climb to Jebel Hafeet, the mountain above Al Ain, whose road is among the best-engineered climbs anywhere.
No attendance figure exists for a free roadside event.
Its February slot makes it the form guide for the European spring, and the field is correspondingly strong for a race only a few years old.
For a visitor the practical note is that the flat stages are not worth planning around — a bunch sprint passes in seconds — while the Jebel Hafeet summit finish gives a long, visible climb and is reachable by road from Al Ain.
PlanningA February window set by the UCI calendar; free to watch, and the mountain stage is the only one worth travelling for.
