Founded in 2005, the ZFF is the youngest significant festival in this file and has grown quickly by positioning itself in the awards corridor: a late-September slot after Venice and Toronto, a green carpet on the Sechseläutenplatz, and tributes that bring the names Locarno does not chase.
The festival publishes admissions per edition; we have not collected a dated one.
Its competitions are for first and second features, which is where the programming is strongest and where the Golden Eye is worth having.
Zurich has the hotel capacity to absorb it without strain, which separates it from almost every other entry in the Swiss file, and the venues are a short walk from one another along the Limmat.
