Fujairah's adventure festival programmes trail running, mountain biking, climbing, paragliding and diving across a landscape that has little in common with the rest of the UAE: the Hajar range rises steeply from the coast, and the Gulf of Oman offers genuine diving rather than the low-visibility Arabian Gulf.

The February dates are not negotiable. Trail running in the Hajar mountains is possible between roughly November and March and dangerous outside that.
Fujairah city is ninety minutes from Dubai through the mountains, which makes this the most accessible real wilderness in the country.
