F1H2O World Championship — Sharjah Grand Prix

سباق الشارقة للزوارق السريعة

Sharjah · United Arab Emirates

The F1H2O powerboat world championship has closed its season at Sharjah for most of the last two decades, racing on the Khalid Lagoon in the middle of the city, which gives spectators a complete view of a circuit from the corniche — rare in any form of motorsport.

No attendance figure is collected in this pass.

The boats are tunnel hulls running at over 220 km/h on water a few hundred metres from a city centre.

Watching is free from the lagoon's edge. The event is usually the title decider, and the Sharjah round is accompanied by a programme of displays and fireworks along the waterfront — one of the few large free spectacles in an emirate with no licensed entertainment.

PlanningA December window on the lagoon; free to watch from the corniche.
