Rose d'Or

Geneva · Rotating · Switzerland

The Rose d'Or began at Montreux in 1961 as a competition for light-entertainment television and was for decades a fixture of the Swiss broadcasting calendar. It is now run by the European Broadcasting Union as an awards ceremony whose host city rotates — it has been held in Berlin and London in recent years rather than in Switzerland at all.

No attendance figure applies; this is an accredited industry evening.

We file it because MOLT does, and with the correction that matters for a reader: this is no longer a Geneva or Montreux event in any reliable sense, and anyone planning around it should check the host city for the year in question. The Swiss connection is historical.

PlanningAn awards evening, not a festival, and the host city rotates — Montreux, Berlin, London in different years.
