Fujairah International Arts Festival

Fujairah runs an arts festival built around theatre and the monodrama form, with music and visual art alongside, staged at the Fujairah Fort and the cultural centre. It is state-supported and free.

Fujairah is the only emirate facing the Gulf of Oman rather than the Arabian Gulf, with the Hajar mountains behind it and a markedly different climate and character from the west coast.

The emirate's Monodrama Festival, held in alternate years, is internationally known within theatre circles and is a separate event from this one — which is a distinction most listings do not make.
