For eleven nights Sharjah projects large-scale light works onto its landmarks — the Al Noor Mosque, the University City buildings, the Sharjah Mosque, the heritage area and sites in Kalba and Khorfakkan on the east coast — with original music and animation commissioned for each surface.
No attendance figure is collected in this pass.
Sharjah is the UAE's cultural emirate by policy: it holds the Biennial, the book fair, the museums, and an alcohol ban that shapes its visitor profile entirely differently from Dubai next door.
The festival is free and distributed across the emirate, which means a car and a route rather than a venue. February evenings are cool enough to walk between the nearer sites.
PlanningA February window; free, outdoors, and running across several towns rather than one site.
